I awake one morning and something or somebody is telling me that I should go to NYC. I should bring my collection and make private appointments.
Very similar to the movie, “Build the baseball field and they will come.” I do not know if it is coming from my head or from my stomach, as both places talk to me, as I am sure they do to you. It is particularly interesting because I recently found out that my factory of 15 years was closing because of health reasons, the big C, which was rather devastating as I only really had one factory. Of course, I did have my friend Jose Luis that made my Sirenas in Spain. But not worth a whole trip to sell sequined comfort flats, although once you put them on, you never take them off.
I had just sold two stunning handbags to Professor Maureen in Hong Kong, and that inspired me to talk to Vicente, my handbag manufacturer, who I owed almost as much money to as Amex. I convinced him that, even though I owed him, the only way I could pay him back was to make another collection and bring it to The States and sell the merde out of it. Excuse my Spanish. Feeling ever so Scarlett
O´Hara, I thought that’s it I will make a great collection out of the air and bring it across the ocean and start my business all over again. Like one of those turn of the century (1900) young girls who gets off Ellis Island and starts something on the lower east side, and generations later, she has built up and incredible empire and fortune. This is just a bit in reverse, I am now still a young 71 and am going to cross the same ocean but start on the upper east side.
As my life is guided by a family of angels (my own ) suddenly I start a correspondence with a lovely young woman in New Delhi through Instagram. She makes and sells beaded and embroidered flats. So if my name isn’t Beverly Feldman, it doesn’t take a minute before we are talking business and a collaboration. Now Pooja has joined team BF and is making some of the cutest flats, I am on a roll.
I AM COMING TO NEW YORK CITY WITH A NEW COLLECTION OF SHOES AND HANDBAGS APRIL 13 T0 APRIL 24. EMAIL ME AT Beverly@BeverlyFeldmanShoes.com For your appointment.
